Ewing High School celebrated Fall Spirit Week from October 24th-28th.
On Lazy Monday, students and staff dressed in their biggest, baggiest, and most comfortable clothes (many opted for pajamas). On Team Tuesday, crimson and green sports jerseys filled the halls, as many seized the opportunity to celebrate the recent successes of the Eagles and Phillies. Wednesday’s Bikers vs. Surfers Day served up nostalgic Disney-vibes (a la the movie Teen Beach), while Thursday allowed students to showcase their musical tastes with Album Cover Day. Friday was a traditional Blue and White Day with a modified bell schedule to accommodate a one-hour pep rally in the gym, featuring performances by the fall cheerleaders and the Blue Flame Dance Team as well as recaps from all the fall sports seasons.
The focal point of the pep rally, however, was the spirit competition between two halves of the school, as the freshman/senior “Blue” team took on the sophomore/junior “White” team in games such as Hungry Hungry Hippos, Family Feud, Name That Tune, relay races, and the Tire Pull. Ultimately, the “Blue” team took home the spirit cup, moving those two grades a bit further ahead in the year-long spirit point competition.
With the first of our four spirit weeks in the books, the students are already counting down until Winter Spirit Week, which will be held January 9th-13th. Ultimately, the grade with the most spirit points after the final spirit week in early June will earn a trip to Six Flags!
