Important District Communication Confirmed COVID-19 Case at Antheil Elementary School

December 14th, 2020

Dear Ewing School Community,

We have learned that an Antheil Elementary School student has tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

That student last attended school on Thursday December 10th.

Our trained district COVID-trackers have conducted contact tracing and all staff and students who have been determined to have possibly been in close contact with this individual have been identified and notified.

In accordance with public health guidelines, these individuals will be kept out of school and do their work virtually for the remainder of the week.

Furthermore, we have been made aware that a small number of Antheil students may have been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case at an out of district youth recreational center. Out of an abundance of caution, these students have been removed from the “in-school” instructional program at Antheil.

The district will continue to take precautions to prevent the introduction and spread of viruses and other germs and is cleaning frequently-touched surfaces consistently.

Remember, do not send your child to school if they have had any contact with an individual who is sick, suspected of having COVID-19, or if they themselves are not feeling well. The daily COVID screening must be completed each morning, and no child should be sent to school if any indicator is checked.

Finally, please keep in mind that any further COVID-19 related exposures or incidents at Antheil may result in the school moving to a fully virtual learning platform prior to December 21st

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Michael Nitti

Superintendent of Schools
