Media Specialists at NJASL Fall Conference

Media Specialists

Ms. Karen Grant, media specialist at Parkway Elementary School, served as the chairperson of the New Jersey Association of School Librarians (NJASL) Fall Conference, at The Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City. This year’s theme, A World of Stories: A Celebration of Diversity in School Libraries, was relative, inclusive, and inspirational. The conference's schedule was thoughtfully curated, featuring a diverse range of keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive workshops that catered to the diverse interests and needs of school librarians. Fellow Ewing colleagues played key roles during the conference. Mr. Eric Thomas, fourth grade teacher at Parkway Elementary School and author, presented a session called: From Storytelling to Author. Additionally, Mrs. Jodie Bauer, FMS Media Specialist, served as the sponsor and exhibitor chair for the conference.

Ms. Grant’s leadership played a crucial role in making the NJ Association of School Librarians Fall Conference a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the participants and reinforcing the association's commitment to professional development in the field of school librarianship.
