BTE Press Release: Bridge to Employment (BTE) Program in Ewing, NJ

The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invited Ewing High School to join in a partnership with Johnson & Johnson, The College of New Jersey Bonners Scholars Program for a grant funded Bridge to Employment Program.


Selection for the BTE began at the end of the 2020-2021 school year. Over eighty (80) students applied and fifty-three (53) EHS grade 9 students were accepted into the first cohort. The grant's goal is to increase the number of students enrolling in higher education and pursuing careers in the STEM sector. Our BTE students will participate in a three year program of mentoring, academic support through TCNJ Bonner Scholars and will be encouraged to participate in Honors, AP and dual enrollment courses in STEM related fields. Additionally, students will participate in team building and cultural experiences coordinator by The Bonner Scholars.

On September 2nd, The College of New Jersey hosted a Bridge to Employment Kick-Off event in the Education building for BTE students and their families. Dr. Antoni, the district's new Director of Counseling and Assessment and Dr. Ishibashi attended the kick-off event. Dr. Antoni shared “I am thrilled to collaborate with the BTE grant partners who are providing Ewing students this incredible opportunity at the The College of New Jersey.”
