District Contracts with Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County to Provide Elementary After-School Care 2021-2022

District Contracts with Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County to Provide Elementary After-School Care

The Ewing Township Board of Education approved a contract with the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County to provide after-school care at the district’s elementary schools.

The Boys and Girls Club program will replace the in-house afterschool care programming previously offered by the district known as PM EDP (Afternoon Extended Day Program).

The district will still be providing the AM EDP (Morning Extended Day Program) at each of the elementary schools.

“We are happy to partner with the Boys and Girls Club to provide quality, meaningful afterschool care to our elementary school students,” School Business Administrator Dennis Nettleton stated.

According to Nettleton, the Boys and Girls Club proposal satisfied the most important criteria established by the administration and Board.  The after-school care program will continue to be housed in each elementary school, the cost of the program for district parents will be fair and aligned with the district’s previous fee structure, and the provider must have an outstanding record of exemplary programming.

The district’s elementary school parents will begin receiving information regarding enrolling in the Boys and Girls Club’s afterschool program as we make our way through the summer. There will also be registration information made available on the district website and at each elementary school.

Any parent with questions about the change is encouraged to reach out to Mr. Nettleton’s office at 609-538-9800x1302 or djn@ewingboe.org.
