District Release: Ewing High School Boys and Girls Basketball Attendance Policy February 12th 3PM (Effective Immediately)

On February 12th, Governor Murphy issued an Executive Order allowing for attendance at scholastic indoor athletic events. 

In accordance with that Executive Order, Ewing High School has instituted the following approach for Boys and Girls Basketball effective immediately: 

EHS and the visiting basketball program will receive 30 tickets from the EHS athletic administration. 

These tickets are designated for two adults, parents/guardians of varsity players.  However, each program may determine how the tickets are allotted. 

Each ticket will be scanned in upon entry.  By having their ticket scanned, the attendee is acknowledging the following: 

That they are symptom free of COVID-19 and have completed a self-screening acknowledging they have none of the following: 

      • A fever above 100.4
      • Cough or shortness of breath
      • Chills
      • Muscle aches
      • Headache
      • New loss of taste or smell
      • Abdominal pain
      • Nausea
      • Vomiting or diarrhea.  

And that they have not done any of the following: 

  • Had close contact with someone who is currently sick.
  • Had been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past three weeks or have reason to believe you have COVID- 19.
  • Have traveled or had close contact with someone who has traveled internationally in the last 14 days.
  • Have traveled outside the immediate state/territory region (New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Delaware) 

The Ewing Schools reserves the right to check the temperature of any individual attending the event. 

Masks must be worn by all attendees during the event.  Physical distancing must be practiced by all attendees. 

No individual under the age of 18 will be allowed in to the event. 

There is no charge for admission. 

Ewing parents/spectators should enter the designated door closest to the main building, and will be restricted to one side of the gym.  Visiting parents/spectators should enter the designated door closest to the ticket office, and will be restricted to the opposite side of the gym. 

Please do not meet or congregate in the main lobby in front of the gym.  Please do not loiter in the gym before or after the game.  Please depart the gym quickly after games. 

Please be respectful of our staff.  They are working hard, and putting their own health at risk, to provide this opportunity for the student-athletes. 

Remember that the motivation of playing scholastic sports during this public health crisis, is to provide a positive experience for our students and promote positive mental and emotional health. Please model that in your behavior. 

We will continue to evaluate potential parental attendance at swimming, bowling and wrestling events, and will release more information when appropriate. 

Please note that games will continue to be livestreamed.
