Important District Communication: COVID-19 Update Tuesday, November 17th, 2020

November 17th, 2020

Dear Ewing School Community,

As noted in previous correspondences, the deteriorating COVID-19 public health developments statewide are creating increasing challenges for school districts throughout the state.

We learned today that an Antheil Elementary School student has tested positive for COVID-19.  That student was last in school on Friday, November 13th. Contact tracing is currently being conducted by our in-district certified contact investigators.  Staff and students deemed to be in close contact will be shifted to virtual work.  Upon completion of contact tracing, Antheil Elementary School will send out an Instant Alert.

At Ewing High School, we have a student who is known to be a close contact of a positive COVID-19 case. Based upon the circumstances of this case, we have decided to move students and staff deemed to be in close contact with this student to virtual work for the next fourteen days.

Please emphasize physical distancing, avoiding gatherings, proper hygiene, and mask wearing.  Remember, in accordance with our daily health screening, do not send your child to school if they are not feeling well or have been in contact with someone who is sick.

We are also again reminding any families who have a child who tests positive to notify the school main or health office immediately.

We appreciate your support and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Michael Nitti

Superintendent of Schools
