Ewing Public Schools Update: Wednesday, March 25th, 2020

Ewing Public Schools Update:  Wednesday, March 25th, 2020

Most importantly, I hope today finds you and your family well.

The health and safety of our students is our foremost concern.  Please follow all the advice from medical experts to keep your family healthy during this public crisis.  If your children are struggling, our counseling and student support team is available to assist.

Thank you to everyone for your help and support as we moved to our Virtual Learning Program.  So many people throughout the school community have worked very hard to make this transition successful, and we are very appreciative. We are so grateful for the efforts of our teaching staff for all that they have done during this dramatic change in how we educate our students.  We also want to share our gratitude to our parents and students.  We know that this has placed an extra burden on your home-life and families and thank you for your support.

A former coach of mine used to say, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are,” and this is sort of our defining mantra right now.

On March 16th, Governor Murphy issued Executive Order 104, closing all schools in New Jersey indefinitely.

As a result, the Ewing Schools will remain closed until our governmental leaders and public health officials have deemed it is safe and appropriate for our students to return.  Our Virtual Learning Program will continue next week.

The week after that (April 6th-10th) is Spring Break.  There will be no work expectation for staff or daily academic requirements for students.  Our assumption right now is that our Virtual Learning Program will recommence on Monday, April 13th, but we will obviously continue to evaluate with key stake holders and communicate any changes.

Remember to check our district website and Twitter feed frequently for updates.

Thanks and take care.
