EHS Senior Spotlight June 2023: Meet Elizabeth Stoner

What do you want people to know about Ewing High School that they might not know? I wish that people wouldn’t underestimate Ewing students. I want incoming freshmen and current students to know that they have to believe in themselves even if no one else does, because I have met some incredibly kind and intelligent people that just don’t receive the support or resources that they need to succeed. Whoever you are, there is someone that believes in you and sees your potential. I also wish that other schools would recognize how amazing our study body is. Our school is home to wonderful diversity, great minds, kind hearts, talented athletes, and so much spirit. Semester 2 Final Exam Schedule

Please 'click' the above title to view the Semester 2 Final Exam schedule for 2023. Please take note that Block 2 and 3 will be on Tuesday, June 20th. Block 4 and 1 will be on Wednesday, June 21st. All school issued chrome books will be collected during homeroom on Wednesday and will be redistributed next school year.

ESL Senior Celebration

The twelfth grade ESL students and their families attended a celebratory dinner on May 31st, in the EHS cafeteria.  All twelve seniors attended the event with their families and friends.  Ms. Gonzales, Mr. Dale, student-teacher Mrs. Picos-Barraza, and Ms. Graja hosted the event.  Each student received a certificate of achievement and an ESL Graduation medal. It was a special night and a time for us to celebrate together. 

Ewing High School Inducts National Honor Society Members

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, the NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character.

Ewing Drama qualifies for Nationals in Indiana and has a showcase winner!

Congratulations to Ewing Drama’s International Thespian Society Troupe, Troupe 4883 for qualifying for Nationals in Indiana and for winning multiple awards at the NJ Thespian Festival at Robbinsville High School!  The following students competed in categories including: musical theatre solo, musical theatre duet, musical theatre small group, contrasting monologues, technical theatre stage management and technical theatre knot tying and rigging:  Emilia Carbajal, Jayden White, Maddie Marsola, Maureen Lepold, Chase Bolden, Lizzie Stoner, Sam Schwartz, Jacob Scwartz, Julianna Medina, Alan Chausse, Andrew Weir, Haley Petrushun, Victoria Sanchez, Collin Rutkowski, Nicholas Benedetti, Sage Grant Smith, Hurst Leah, Shelby Edouard, Franchesca Edouard and Jordan Griffin.

EHS Orchestra Partakes in 2023 NJMEA High School Orchestra Festival

Ewing High School orchestra students had the wonderful opportunity to attend and perform at the 2023 NJMEA High School Orchestra Festival in Tenafly, New Jersey. Students received feedback and worked with clinician Adam Glaser who is currently the Music Director of the professional-caliber Juilliard Pre-College Orchestras, and Director of Orchestras and Associate Professor of Music at Hofstra University. Mr. Glaser also serves as a cover conductor for the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and was Principal Conductor of the NYU Orchestras.

EHS Student Lina Abtouche Princeton University Bound

On December 15, 2022, Ewing High School senior Lina Abtouche prepared to receive life-changing news. She gathered her family around the dining room table and opened a message from Princeton University. “When I opened my decision and saw that I got accepted into one of the most prestigious universities in the country, I was overjoyed and honored.”

Ewing Senior Similolu Olubamowo Accepted to West Point Military Academy

Similolu Olubamowo, known by friends as Simi, plans to study Civil Engineering, a natural avenue considering his exemplary academic accomplishments in his Science, Mathematics and Technology coursework at Ewing High School. Mr. Halpern, teacher of Physics, captured Simi's breadth of scholarly interests by noting, “Simi has a desire to know and understand as much as is available to him. He is not afraid to ask questions that others might be. His excitement and enthusiasm for new ideas constantly impressed me.”

EHS Teacher Rider Outstanding Cooperating Teacher

Mr. Edward Dutch was selected as the Outstanding Cooperating Teacher of the Year from Rider University for the 2022 Spring semester. The award was presented to Mr. Dutch at the end of December at a ceremony hosted at Rider University. He was nominated by his student teacher Victoria Burd, who ironically, the district hired this fall. Mr. Dutch shared with the Rider University students who attended the event that as a teacher it is very important to find a place where you work you can call ‘home’. Mr. Dutch told the group he found his ‘home’ at Ewing High School for the past 15 years, and has grown both professionally and personally. Congratulations Mr. Dutch!

EHS Students Attend Women’s Leadership Summit at TCNJ

Four Ewing High School BTE students ventured to TCNJ to partake in their 12th Annual Women’s Leadership Summit. Lydia, Lananda, Selina, and Jayla represented Ewing High School proudly throughout the day. Students got the opportunity to hear from influential female business leaders like Michele Meyer-Ship, who is the new CEO of Dress for Success Worldwide. Students also explored how to create a vibrant career through the design thinking method and engaged in a moderated discussion with Diana Zaccardi, the Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing for Verizon. The day was filled with personal and professional growth!
