  • FMS Virtual Movie Night a Huge Success

    On Thursday, February 4th, Fisher Middle School students popped some popcorn, grabbed a comfy blanket, and came together for a Virtual Movie Night over a series of Google Meets. In total, around 70 students attended and were spread out over 10 different movie rooms, which were virtually chaperoned by FMS teachers. They were able to choose from movies such as Up, Inside Out, The Goonies, Beauty and the Beast, Soul, The Greatest Showman, Remember the Titans, and Hidden Figures.     We have learned that a Fisher Middle School staff member tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Thursday, February 11th. As you know, Fisher was last open for “in-person” student instruction on Thursday, February 4th. This staff member was in the building on Friday, February 5th. Our trained district COVID-trackers have conducted contact tracing and all individuals who have been determined to have possibly been in close contact with this staff member have been identified and notified, and will follow quarantine protocols. Fisher is still scheduled, weather permitting, to return from COVID-pause and welcome back “in-school” students on Tuesday, February 16th.

  • Ewing Schools Update: EHS/FMS Hybrid Schedule Change/Alignment

    As Fisher Middle School comes out of COVID-pause and returns students to “in-person” programming on Tuesday, February 16th, we have made some change to the hybrid schedules for both EHS and FMS. Tuesday, February 16th will now be an A Day for FMS students. Ewing High School will no longer have fully virtual days on Friday. This will allow us to have the EHS and FMS hybrid schedules aligned.     “Ms. Burdick is truly deserving of the New Jersey Governor's Educator of the Year Award for Fisher Middle School,” Principal Maggy Hanna stated. “In her six years as a teacher, she has significantly impacted the lives of hundreds of students.   • Stay In to Win!

    The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Boys Basketball team and a select few middle school boys had FMS their first ‘virtual’ mentor group called "Stay in to Win". "Stay in to Win" is a mentor program set up so older, accomplished men can teach adolescent boys the value of getting a good education, working hard to overcome hardships and the steps to take in order to be a successful leader in our society.

  • Students at OBA Participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month

    During the month of October, students and staff at the Frank O’Brien Academy (OBA) participated in a Service-Learning Project to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and we chose this project to support a staff member at OBA who is fighting a courageous battle with this terrible disease.

  • Fisher Middle School and Ewing High School Parent Letter Change in Program

    As was previously communicated prior to the start of the school year, there is an opportunity for FMS and EHS students to switch to another program for the second (2nd) quarter which begins November 16th. It is expected that students will then remain in this placement for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. The Genesis Parent Access Registration Request Change Form will be available November 18th -24th . Only complete the Genesis registration form if you want to request a change in your child’s learning program. You do not need to complete the registration form for your child to remain in their current program.
