Mr. Brock Mislan joined the Ewing Public Schools as the K-12 Social Studies/Humanities Supervisor in 2019.

Mr. Mislan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics, History and International Affairs, cum laude, from Fairleigh Dickinson, and then obtained a Master’s in Secondary Social Studies from Duquesne University and his New Jersey Supervisors Certificate from Rutgers University.

Mr. Mislan began his career as a teacher of social studies at Montgomery High School, where he was the 2004 Teacher of the Year.  For the past eleven years, he has been a Teacher of Advanced Placement Government and Politics and US History at Burlington Township High School, where he also served as the Social Studies Department Coordinator.  During this time Mr. Mislan designed and implemented school-wide programs and simulations on voting, civic engagement and multicultural understanding and implemented new and progressive approaches to teacher evaluation.  Mr. Mislan is a leader in professional development for staff, and has conducted many training sessions and seminars on backwards design planning, critical questioning, primary source analysis and effective use of assessment data.

A proponent of civic engagement and involvement through the social studies, Mr. Mislan has partnered with the Eagleton Institute of Politics to facilitate new research in civic education for students and promote assessment of civic skills and knowledge.
