The Mercer County Technical School District offers opportunities for students to participate in career and technical education programs while in high school. The programs prepare students for college and careers. Many of the programs allow students to earn college credit and/or industry certification for the work completed in high school.
Most high school students apply for shared-time programs in 10th grade. Students who elect to attend the Mercer County Technical School programs will continue to identify Ewing as their home school. This includes the ability to participate in extracurricular activities and sports. On full days of school, students will have lunch at Ewing High School, if it can be scheduled. Transportation to and from the technical schools will be provided. Students will earn 20 credits toward graduation for each year of successful completion of the career and technical education program. Most programs are for two years with the exception of identified one-year programs. There is no cost to Mercer County resident high school students.
The first link below has access to information about the two Shared Time Programs as well as the Career Prep program. Descriptions of each program and an explanation of how to apply are included.
