EHS Head Football Coach Drew Besler Named DelVal Coach of the Year
After guiding the Blue Devils football team to a division title and the first program playoff win since 2002, EHS Head Football Coach Drew Besler has been named the Hank Johns Coach of the Year by the Delaware Valley Football Chapter.
The Delaware Valley Football Chapter is a chapter of the National Football Foundation. Twenty-five Public/Prep/Private Schools from Mercer and Burlington County belong to the Delaware Valley Football Chapter. The Hank Johns Coach of the Year Award is named after the former College of New Jersey football coach who was known for his integrity and leadership.
Besler becomes the first Coach of the Year from Ewing High School since Bruce Martz was honored in 1981.
“The excellent work Coach Besler has been doing with our student-athletes both on the field and in the community has certainly been noticed,” Athletic Director Bud Kowal stated. “He has high standards for his athletes on the gridiron, in the classroom and in the community, and that has certainly been reflected not only in an outstanding season, but in how so many of his players continue to achieve in many areas of life.”
Besler will be feted at The George Wah Delaware Valley Scholar-Athlete Dinner on March 12, 2017 where he will receive the award and also get the opportunity to address the crowd.
The dinner takes place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, at the Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village. Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased for families, individuals or organizations by calling Ron Hoehn at 609-731-6610.
