A Message from the Superintendent
December 21, 2009
Dear Parents/Guardians:
The Ewing Police Department has informed the school district that it is investigating two incidents that occurred last week involving the attempted luring of juveniles in the area surrounding Ewing High School. The first incident occurred in the 900 block of Terrace Blvd. The description provided by the reporters was a medium skinned African-American male, from 20 to 40 years of age, with a chubby face, wearing glasses and having dark hair, cut short into a fade. The male was driving a newer model silver or gray sports car (possibly Nissan) with lightly tinted windows and chrome rims. In this incident the male made sexually explicit comments to the reporters, 15 and 16 years of age.
The second incident involved the attempted abduction of a 15 year old female on Farrell Avenue which took place on Saturday, 12/19. In this case a male attempted to pull the female into his vehicle. The reporter in this case described the subject as being either a light skinned African-American or Hispanic male, approximately 5’8 to 5’9, with short black hair and wearing a tan coat with a black mask covering the lower part of his face. The subject was said to be driving a late 1990s white Ford Explorer.
The above incidents occurred between the hours of 2:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. while the reporters were either walking down the street or standing in front of their houses.
Please contact the Ewing Police Department (882-1313) should you have any questions, concerns or information related to these incidents.
Sincerely,
Michael Nitti
