The Science Showcase is an annual event at Parkway Elementary School.  It is open to students in third through fifth grades.  The students must explore a science experiment while going through the steps in the Scientific Method.  Students work with the Science Showcase Coaches and Advisor to work through their problem and hypothesis.  The majority of the Science Experiment is done at home with frequent check-ins with a coach.  Students then participate in the Science Showcase by being judged and sharing their information with the school community through their speeches and display boards.  The winners are awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in each grade level and all students receive a Certificate of Achievement for their participation.
The 2013 Science Showcase was held on Friday, January 25th from 9:15-10:30.

We had students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade sharing their experiments and research.
Some of the projects this year included Gelatin Mountains, Strawberry DNA, Glacier Gack,
Burning Money, Mentos Explosion, Pencil Baggie, Magnetic Money, Lemontricity and Floating Water.
Parents and guardians are invited to attend from 9:15-10:30.  Students were judged during this time, as well.
